"A Garden is but a Canvas to our Imagination and Full of Endless Possibilities"
Hi...I’m Deborah, and I am the owner of Garden Girl LLC!
Welcome!
A Bit about me:
I have always been in love with the natural world and all activities outdoors for as long as I can remember.
I grew up in rural Michigan climbing in trees, camping “up north”, canoeing our many rivers, running barefoot every day, and exploring the surrounding woods.
I was fascinated by bugs, animals, plants, and their relationships to one another.
Growing up my parents grew most of the food we ate in our backyard garden.
I learned from a young age how to grow and care for edible and non-edible plants in that garden.
My mother even taught us how to preserve the garden harvest to provide healthy home-grown food throughout the winter.
My university education was scientifically diverse: ecological, conservation, environmental sustainability, soil science,
and finally horticultural studies.
Today as a horticulturist my diverse science education allows me to look at the big picture and assist my clients with many issues on their property. I greatly enjoy teaching others the importance of soil health, sustainable landscaping/gardening, foodscaping and utilizing the “yard” for more than just turf ...or grass as you know it.
Creating new garden spaces filled with colorful blooms or just maintaining the gardens is so fulfilling! I love to see how happy my clients are with the finished project.
Flowers, food, soil health, plant health, design and build, rejuvenating old gardens, and pruning.
Garden Girl can help you with all of it.
Finally,
I feel blessed -
as I do what I love -
so is it really work?
Thank you for visiting my website! Warm regards, Deborah
